A public sector fund is a superannuation fund that forms part of a public sector superannuation scheme established by or under:

• a law of the Commonwealth, state or territory
• the authority of the Commonwealth, state or territory governments
• the authority of a municipal corporation, a local governing body or public authority constituted under a Commonwealth, state or territory law
